Re: 0.19 copies all objects when duplicating

It is workable - but it is not the same thing. I could argue that now the relations are clearer because you see at a glance that the duplicated object depends in its tools and if you modify them it will also change. But if you jump from 0.15 directly to 0.19(0.20) and did not follow the changes in ...

As already mentioned just use Draft/Clone. It creates a parametric object that can also be scaled and attached.

Re: 0.19 copies all objects when duplicating

Have a go at it attached the box i had designed in 'draft' mode. Here is the resulting file with some explanations: . SelectionOnDuplication.jpg . Only the topmost object is selected for duplication. All other are deselected. Some more clicks that a simple "No" but actually allows for mor...

Re: 0.19 copies all objects when duplicating

So the option 'no' doesn't exist nowadays if you click 'duplicate'. I recently used that and it works as expected. Could you post an example file and the same file with your duplication so we could show you the selection to achieve the desired result? Sometime dependencies might look quite mixed up...

Re: The maximum Y-extant position

Maybe this issue with the bounding box visualization needs to be addressed... But IMO its coordinates still should be relative to the objects origin and not translated with the container offsets.

Re: Freecad 0.20 (and 0.19) with Involute Gear

Latest from here https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-Bundle/releases/tag/weekly-builds is 25566 so you should try with that first. With my local built it works as expected - single entry in the menu. And if you want to move it to another plane you do that with modification of the attachment - map mod...

And why did you assume all the other right angles but not this one? Also view A being along the opening center line and not perpendicular to the top surface?

But the hole should be perpendicular to the top slanted surface. Check again the drawing in the OP. Yours clearly is not.

Any ideas? I actually did not check your file then (and still did not) and those are just general remarks for how FreeCAD works. Recomputation of the document happens in order of dependency. So if object 2 is somehow dependent on object 1 first object 1 is recomputed (if needed) and then object 2. ...
