How to reconfigure the post processor? [SOLVED!]
Dear forum, I am in the process of trying to cut chips from Path for the very first time. As expected, the g-code produced is not identical to Heeks CAM, which I have used successfully in the past. I specifically need to change the preamble and tool change sections, so they don't throw away my tool ...

Thank you Marcus!
Re: Z+ = Z-
Defining the axes and their directions is a setting you do in LinuxCNC.
Or do you mean that you have them correct there, and your path is turning it wrong?

Re: 3Dsurface unnecessary repeat on exit.
Does it seem to make sense to have automatic recalculation of 3D paths at all? There seem to be many ifs and buts?
Maybe it would be more practical to select a path and hit a "recalculate" button?

Isn't this what "copy", "array" and "simple copy" are for?

Re: Recent change to movement with safe and clearance height
Thanks for explaining this chrisb!
I have seen the picture with the definitions many times before over the years, but it was not until your example above that i finally got what safe and clearance is for. To me, they are just synonyms, hence difficult to understand.

Re: inappropriate cutting speed on ramps.
Helical paths are the obvious exception to existing tools not doing simultaneous x,y,z movement, are there others I'm missing. I can think of holding tags, slots, pockets, profiles etc with ramp or zigzag entry and anything 3D. I think there was a discussion on this topic as well and think the conc...

I have seen this too and was hoping for the same behavior as you.
