I didn't even know it was possible to make threads with a helical path
I assumed you needed a tap for that size hole and use a drill operation
you also needed a collet with Z-play in order to do this

Re: Lightning Protection
If the end result is a 3D field or limit and not the actual path itself, I'm pretty sure this problem can be solved entirely in Blender and in realtime
I'll take a stab at it sometime

Sketcher "Label" tool to solve the TopoNaming problem ?
I'm pretty new to this but I've been thinking about a simple "why not just" solution to the topological naming problem instead of naming every geometric entity with Point1 Edge2 Face3 wouldn't it make sense to be able to name stuff in the sketcher ? like ... just add a "Label" to...

Re: Alternative ways to draw a pyramid - Looking for a full FreeCad course
Seems to me the most elegant way is to additive loft between 3 sketches of regular polygons using the Add regular polygons took in the Sketcher This way it's fully inside the PartDesign WB and thus 100% parametric edit: wait a minute now that I think about it I don't think the number of facets is pa...

Re: Subdivision To N.U.R.B.S. (IGES) for free
That person was last logged onto the forum in 2017. Unlikely to see your UPDATE! so apparently I found the guy on the blenderartists forum and there's a thread where he described how he did it ... https://blenderartists.org/t/from-blender-subdivision-to-n-u-r-b-s-iges-for-free/680688/11 so apparent...

Schermata del 2016-12-19 11-33-43.png what kind of black magic is this ??!? AFAIK the .OBJ file format does not support creased edges so then how HOW did you do that ? those are clearly creased edges I would very much like to know since I'm going to use this for RC plane design what I want: creased...

Re: Double herringbone - Not equal
I do not know what an ".amf" file is, or whether anyone here would find it useful. .amf files "Additive manufacturing format" are a XML-based file format used by slicer software to store strictly manifold mesh data as well as printing/slicing profiles the idea was to replace the...

Re: PartDesign threads fails
Ok, idk what Refine does that makes it work but I thought in CAD modelling you can use overlapping faces for boolean operations so long as you're working with solids ... I mean I may be nitpicking but adding that 0.01mm is really inelegant to be honest ... like, that's the type of stuff I have to do...

Re: Lavochkin La-11 RC Airplane (3D printed)
You can use the Curved Segment tool in the Curved Shapes WB This interpolates from one profile to another. Problem with that is that it only works between 2 profiles ... you can't smoothly interpolate between more than 2 profiles. Ideally you would define multiple profiles along either the body of ...
