Re: FreeCAD Logo Design

Looks interesting, thank you very much. To be honest, I don't agree with your statement regarding the quoted requirements. [...] helps to easily read FC [...] I'm not able to read FC. Is it just me? Hahaha, OK, may be it's not literally "easy to read FC"... but we can say "F" an...

Re: FreeCAD Logo Design

A new variant (this one works better as an icon), and retains all of the already described features: a design that is somehow an evolution of the actual design so that it is more of a modernization than a brand new logo used technical drawing for defining the shapes (easy to reproduce even drawing i...

Unfortunately, with your latest build, we lost the ability to have shadows with a ground transparency set at 1. The shadow follows the transparency of the ground slowly fading while increassing the transparency value.
That's true, it also happens to me...

Here is a brief summary, may miss a few, * Save document as a directory, i.e. without compression, you get a bunch of xml file, etc. * Calling python functions in expression * Use python like statements in expression (if, else, while, etc) * href/dbind() function in expression * CopyOnChange in Lin...

[Request] Easy file name versioning

Blender has a pretty simple but very handy feature that I think fits FreeCAD perfectly because of its technical soul: 1.jpg 2.jpg It consists in "+" and "-" buttons next to the name input field that helps adding or subtracting a "number" to the name itself. The feature ...

Re: FreeCAD Logo Design

I'm still in love with one of my old logo ideas, I can't find a one that fits better... Anyway, I have tweaked it a little bit so that it can better describe CAD paradigm: a design that is somehow an evolution of the actual design so that it is more of a modernization than a brand new logo used tech...

That could be really easy to implement and so cool for BIM designers!

Re: shadows in the freecad viewport

Can you guys try the spot light with 'DropOffRate' and 'CutOffAngle' settings? Any effect? I managed to make them work on my computer but requires yet another patch to Coin3D. It seems to be crippled by some graphics driver bug in updating shader predefined variables. Not sure if it is specific to ...

Re: shadows in the freecad viewport

Well, just think of the ground as a normal face of any other object. When you change the camera position, the shading of the face changes. When the ground shade is lightened, so is the shadow on it. The reason you see the shadow 'disappear' when you have a transparent ground is because I clamped th...
