It's a coplanar issue. search the forum.

Revolve the sketch by changing its angle in attachment by a degree or so.

The first question I would ask is why have you positioned your sketch thus? It could just as easily be revolved around a Std axis. If you have made it thus for some reason, then you may have thought to use a datum line instead of a construction line, particularly since the reference is for multi use...

There you are Chris, the datumline is tangent to the surface, and the datumplane001 passes through the line and the point. :roll:

Thank you for your input, the tutorial is about demonstrating attachment not making stable models. I have tried to adhere to the recommended workflow. This is one of those areas where there is a lack of definition, when the problem is described, it is obvious to a 'uman bein' that the plane should also be tangent to the edge of the cone, but 'puters' being ornery little suckers need to be told explicitly that this is the case. :lol:
