Re: Optics Workbench

Another good thing to do is creating an example. There are already some examples in the Optics menu. Each example creates a FreeCAD project from a python script to test one ore more special features. This are unit tests for all our features. Once your example is working, you can test your design wit...

Re: Optics Workbench

I already tried to update the code so that it also works with the newest OpticsWorkbench. However, I already had a small peek into the ray file and there were some changes that are not so intuitive to me, and I will probably need some time to do this. Also, of course any help is appreciated. Sorry ...

Re: Optics Workbench

my goal is to model a lamp, add the LED light source and all the topology needed data, run a ray simulation and create a spatial distribution curve (like an IES/LDT file). Do you think that this can be made with this workbench? The Optics workbench only simulates bunches of single rays of light. Yo...

Vincent B wrote: Tue Mar 14, 2023 7:56 pm What's happening with the second CurvedPathArray here?
JoinCurve005 has an offset to the origin. CurvedPathArray keeps this offset relative to the path. Better use Sketch as Basis for the CurvedPathArray.

hammax wrote: Sun Mar 12, 2023 9:49 am ... in the CurvedShapesWB there is a feature to twist the profiles at AoA axis.
Would it be possible to choose also one of the other 2 Axes, e.g. the individual profiles planes?
Use the CurvedPathArray tool. The twist will be done around the Sketch selected as Path.

Re: Wrong dimensions in Sketch in TechDraw

Correcting Direction and XDirection solves the problem.
After leaving the XY plane sketch the orientation was not exactly set to Top. If I set the view to Top manually before adding to TechDraw this also solves the problem.
Thanks for you help.
