Re: Point alignment function
I am uncertain if the question I asked was understood. What I wanted to know was if there is a function to take two seperate points of two completely different objects and automatically align them so they occupy the precise same co-ordinates on the object grid: DBwedge2Point03.png Once this is done ...

Point alignment function
To make a complex procedure more simple, where can I find a function to align two specific points of two seperate objects to the exact same space? See the image below for the task I am attempting to perform: DBwedge2Point02.png I am hoping if the 4 points of the wedge align precisely to their design...

Pyramid addition to Geometric Primitives
Many times now I've wanted to make a Pyramid type shape for various reasons and the process in converting a wedge to a Pyramid is rather laborious/tedious. Also, the wedge when created is never vertical, which is an added annoyance, as I have to rotate the axis before performing any other tasks. The...

Re: Toy Sword Blade - shape design help
I found a Mac version of VLC that could play the file and could follow the directions to shape the sword blade edges. Thanks for the tutorial video. I'm going to see if I can convert this wedge into a point tomorrow: DBwedge2Point.png Some of the attachment points were quite precise, I think at one ...

Re: Toy Sword Blade - shape design help
Does anyone know why the video in the post above won't play?
In Safari (MacOS), when I press play, it just shows a black rectangle and nothing happens.
In Internet Explorer (Windows) it didn't even get that far, it just said "Invalid Source" in the player window.

Re: Toy Sword Blade - shape design help
It wasn't until I rotated the image to view it from all angles I noticed the error in the overlap of the blade edges: DBSwordPointRF.png Is there a simple way to freecut the unnecessary edges without having to tailor 4 individual wedges to the shapes needed to be removed? The Diamond part of the sha...

Re: Toy Sword Blade - shape design help
I adapted the concepts I learned from kisolre to shape the blade to my desired design. The next stage of the process involves adding segmented pipes as an inset detail to the blades: SLSNswordPipeConcepts01.png Please note these are for two seperate blades who share a single base shape/design. Is th...

Re: Toy Sword Blade - shape design help
I got the lower half of the blade shaped.
But ran into a problem when trying to shape the upper half: It didn't quite mesh neatly.

Re: Toy Sword Blade - shape design help
Thanks for the help everyone. I decided to go with the simplest approach, Boolean Cut. But I haven't gotten it quite right yet: DBSsampleDesign03.png When I performed the Cut Operation, it missed the lower edge of the blade near the pommel and didn't create the edge along the full length of the blad...
