Re: Development FreeCAD on windows

I didn't think working git compatible.Could be easy to get source and management. I guess, knowing open cascade is too important. is there any guide for open cascade. what is open cascade exactly ? Is it a geometry library? http://www.opencascade.org/doc/occt-6.8.0/overview/html/index.html Open CAS...

Re: MACRO:Work Feature 2014_12

Hi,

I found this macro very useful, there are plenty of macros for FC, but this one is very productive / effective.

Thanks!

Re: My rant about FreeCAD

jreinhardt said: It is true that FreeCAD is more fragmented with respect to workbenches than commercial products. This has its roots in the very modular architecture of FreeCAD, which is extremely powerful from a developer point of view. As a consequence the FreeCAD user base is quite diverse (mech...

Re: Freecad + CalculiX

I know PyCalculiX, first time I found it in Google about 2-3 weeks ago. Nice work, it's a pity it doesn't cover 3D problems. But your approach and using Python is very good. FYI there is another CAE 2D software: Agros2D - also opensource, but much bigger and more functional/sophisticated (this is Mu...

Well done. Nice project and nicely modeled parts!

This transmission looks much more compact then traditional automatic gearboxes.

Re: Other, more "creative", ways to offset curves

The offset function in sketcher is very desired, not only in woodworking. But this is not easy to implement it - I think. When you have made sketch by yourself in FC it is easier (because you know exactly how geometry looks like, have its description in history tree). But when you read sketch from d...

Re: Unofficial Window X64 and X32 Development Snapshots

i guess one thing to note with this is that it uses the same config directory and files as the original (installed) version. so in some cases this could result in some unexpected changes and confusion or worst case corrupt config files. in most cases this should not represent a big problem and shou...

Re: Calculix,Cuda & Netgen,OpenMP

Is SnappyHexMesh exact enough for FEM? (...) XeonPHI is a dream for every FEA worker... :D SnapyHexMesh is only for CFD (and only for OF)- I mentioned it as it is good example of mesher working in parallel. It is really fast. Xeon Phi - this cards are built of chips similar to Pentium CPUs, but the...

Re: Calculix,Cuda & Netgen,OpenMP

Wow, a cuda-based solver is interesting, must be blind fast! Indeed, it is very interesting. CaeLinux 2013 OS already have implemented some patches from this website (to be more precise - you have to download them from one thread on caelinux.com forum). Exodus format make possible to postprocess in...
