Re: New forum search backend
@kkremitzki there seem to be some problem with it? https://forum.freecad.org/viewtopic.php?t=85348#p741236 or is it something else? Repeating my reply here, one issue was likely because of a search when I was generating the new index, but there's also a residual reference to freecadweb.org, it seem...

Re: Image w No Body to sketch on
It looks like one of the issues posted in this thread was caused by a search done during the time the index was being regenerated, but there's also an issue with a residual instance of the old freecadweb.org address being used. I'll take a look at fixing the second issue, but the first one should ha...

New forum search backend
The forum search backend has been moved from the default "native phpBB fulltext" service to the Sphinx search server. Better performance, fewer restrictions (word length & frequency), give it a try.

Re: North American Meetup August 2024?
I can plan the event, but I should first run it by the staff of my potential venue (not that I expect any issues.) One thing, though, is that the alternate dates of August 15-18 would coincide with the Illinois State Fair, and while that would add a little bit more to do, it would also impact hotel ...

Re: North American Meetup August 2024?
I'm interested. Any time in Aug is good. Chicago is easiest for me to get to, but I've never been to Colorado or Oklahoma, so those would be fine. I would like Chicago as well, but event space is likely to be quite expensive. I could provide event space in Springfield, about 200 miles south of Chic...

Re: Checksums/signatures for downloads?
Besides the 7zip issue, the checksum concern is important to address. Starting from freecad.org/downloads.php, there are checksums available for stable at https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/releases/ and for weekly builds at https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-Bundle/releases/tag/weekly-builds but I ...

Re: FOSDEM, FreeCAD day and hackathon 2024
I want to go but won't know for certain if I'll be able to do so for a while. The visit to Blender Studio sounds like a great idea, I hope I'll be able to tag along for that!

Wiki updated, IPv6 support added
Hi all, In case you noticed the wiki was recently in read-only mode, the update has completed, so everything should be back to normal now. Behind the scenes, I've made some caching changes that should help improve performance, and the service is now on a new DigitalOcean Droplet backed by NVMe stora...

No, what they're doing is the equivalent of refreshing a page over and over to cause server load.jfc4120 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 9:23 pmCan a DDoS on your server affect (infect with malware or virus) my computer if I'm online on the forum?Code: Select all
