3d -> 2d for lasercut ?
Hello all, on suggestion I would like to ask my question here as well. I have created a 3D "object" in Partdesign that consists of four bodies. So far so good. Now I want to laser cut the individual "elements" - the bodies - from a sheet of plywood. After some searching, I came a...

Re: Projekt "Lokkessel vom Schrott" in 1:87 -> Fragen/Probleme

So weit so gut. Nun würde ich die einzelnen "Elemente" - sprich Bodies gern per Laser aus ner Sperrholzplatte schneiden. Nach ein bisschen Suchen bin ich über die Arch WB mit den Funkt...

Re: Status of the Linkstage3 branch?
Hi All,
at least - there is a new "TIP" Version available (whatever Tip means - guessing "test in Progress") , dated 18.Oct. 23 :
https://github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD/releases
Branch seems now to be named/based "Linkmerge"
Regards,
Stefan

Re: [Poll] Where to put Sketcher tools settings ?
Hi All,
... maybe the area where nearly all other "context dependend settings menues" are usually shown ?!
A free floating widget might cover in an unexpected way areas where you're just were going to do something.
just my 2cts,
Stefan

Proposal to consider within a new assembly WB
Hi all, whenever I come across the Fastner WB I'm thinking - how about migrate this WB into a upcomming new assembly WB. While I know, that there are way more ways, how parts might be assembeld - i think - why not directely use "Screws" to mount parts where it's already planned to do so. O...

Re: Tip release
Hi All,
IMHO - and - I'm only guessing ...
I can imagine that Tip stands for T(est(ing)) I(n) P(rogress ) - it's also marked as a "pre-release" .
Just my 2 ct's,
Stefan

Re: A randomly started discussion about the necessity of the PD single solid rule
No one will force you to change your way, if you're eager to follow your own single solid per body paradigm. Good point. If we have a switch to set either then I would be all in. I always thought there was a structure to modeling where you can't have free hanging objects. I thought every object (ha...

Re: A randomly started discussion about the necessity of the PD single solid rule
The single solid rule is good, it's analogous to a sharp stick poking the user to expand their modeling skill. Currently the tree has a numbering scheme that numbers/renumbers the single solids as they are created. How would that work? Humans always take the easy route so they will try and model a ...
