Re: Help with tutorial, multiple planes in same screen?
You can check the toggle for autoconstraints. Thank you for that. That should have been a no-brainer for me. Any thoughts to the original post about building another part on another plane? So far, the only way I can achieve it, is to build a part in separate files, then merge them in order to cut o...

Re: Help with tutorial, multiple planes in same screen?
I have no idea why you responded that way. Hi GeneFC, Sorry for the confusion. I'm brand new to this stuff. I wasn't instructing, just following the rules on the important message at the top of the forums. " be clear and leave nothing out" I was just trying to mention what was going on, o...

Re: Help with tutorial, multiple planes in same screen?
In the model tree the "Body" has a light blue background, indicating it is active, Hi GeneFC, Mine is blue also. What also happens is, when I go to cut the two (just like the video), it will only cut when clicking pad 2 first, then pad one. If I click pad 1 first, then pad two, the entire...

Re: Help with tutorial, multiple planes in same screen?
I don't know why it did not work for you. Was there a face or datum plane already selected? Hi GeneFC, I have tried it many ways. Found one way to utilize it. The only time I can get the origin window to open after the initial or first sketch, is to go to the tree, open the Body and highlight the &...

Help with tutorial, multiple planes in same screen?
Hi, I'm working on AndarionCG's tutorial of a bottle. (In-Tutorials and Videos-Product design tutorials library by AndarionCG-Product Design #008 Bottle) Around the 40 second point of the video, he was able to open a second sketch, then the orientation window to choose what plane to use popped up. T...

Re: Wiki Tutorials page got an overhaul!
I just updated the Tutorials page on the wiki. Hi NormandC, I am a newer user and am going through some of the Tutorials. Just attempted the Whiffle Ball tutorial twice and believe that I found a few type o's. I would like to help with Free Cad in some manor and feel this is one of my strong points...

Re: FreeCad v16 verses v17. Which is better to start with ?
that remark must have been pretty old. 0.17 is as stable as 0.16 was or even better. Thanks Chrisb. I don't recall the posting date and it may very well have been an older post. As of today I guess you have version 0.17.13519. Some time in the future no one knows which version you where talking abo...

FreeCad v16 verses v17. Which is better to start with ? (Solved)
Hello, I just jumped in and started to learn version 17 (latest download 3 days ago). I noticed on one post that a moderator suggested to someone that they should have started with 16 first, and not the development version 17 due to many bugs still. Is it better to start in 16 or 17?

Re: Removing an object from parent
I have a "Master Bedroom" that I accidentally added the "Downstairs Bath" to it. I would like to separate these into two rooms. I've build many homes in the past. Technically, they are two separate rooms. What exactly do you want it to look like? In other words, where do you wan...

Re: NewB, needing a little direction upfront.
You don't have to execute anything. Try creating a circle on the xy-plane and export to dxf. If from some reason it doesn't work cut and paste the output from report view here. OK, I did all of that. Opened everything up and rechecked it, and then copied it to my SD card. So, Is that all I do, then...
