Re: Bayonet-geometrie

Interesting  :o
Since I exclusively work on Linux, maybe some Win-useres can test your file.

Re: import filled svg path as faces

I need the right most (cut-out) smiley, I think my macro should do the job ... Hey Maurice, great job.... :!: . The really good news for me is that your macro does also work on the .dxf import with options set "join geometry" + "Group layers into blocks". With these options the ...

Re: import filled svg path as faces

It's a head with two eyes and a mouth, designed in Inkscape. Change to the part workbench, select all path items in the combo view and use the boolean operation to create a fusion. Select the new fusion feature and extrude it as solid in the part workbench. Thx freecad-heini. The problem here is no...

Re: Can't install Mod"optical ray tracing"

The goal is a scientific ray tracer which is different from photo realistic rendering of images. We try to couple CAD together with classical optical design tools to be able to design for example an objective for some camera from scratch. Thats exactly what I am also interested in!! All the best an...

Re: Can't install Mod"optical ray tracing"

Quick question... does this already work properly? Can anyone place here or on github a screenshot or output. EDIT: OK found some .... really hidden in the wiki... a eyecatcher at the first page would be nice: https://github.com/mess42/pyrate/wiki/Field-sampling Maybe this could be combined with the...

Re: Optics in FreeCAD

Hi, Very very interesting :!: That looks nice but for doing simulations for optics it would be necessary to also see the light paths. Is this possible with CADRays :?: Maybe it is possible to at least insert 2D simulation results of the ray-paths of e.g. x-z into the 3D FC- model (http://sterncat.gi...

Re: Bayonet-geometrie

Hi Norus, Maybe this is a bug in 0.16,..... bepends on your model history?! I opened it in 0.16 and 0.17 recomputed *) everything and the prob. is gone. :D You can test elements in the OpenSCAD-workbench or Part-WB using the "Check Geometry"-tool to see if they are solids or shells. This w...

Dear Yorik,
Do you think it is possible to change the behaviour of dxf and/or svg import to achieve the above described?
Thanks in advance,
Howil

Re: import filled svg path as faces

In the case of such a regular pattern the simplest way is to calculate the expected faces in a script and then build a shell from your faces and the remaining faces of the base part. Is python a opportunity for you? Thx microelly2, but nop python is no option. As shown in my first pic, there is not...
