Re: ASM4 - Yankee_Differential_Cardan - Progress
P1- Whether or not I select the FuseeVoieCourte002, the Point is always created at the end of ASM4_Yankee_Suspension_Av. Hide the assembly and make the original body visible. Make sure the part container for your Fusion is selected (double click--bold, 3D view is green highlighted). Now, add a poin...

Re: Can we conquer Sketch Flipping?
At last we have something like coherence Bravo! I am most pleased that you stuck with it. At the risk of muddying the waters and causing more confusion please see an alternate approach which does not rely on attaching LCS's to the master sketch: https://forum.freecad.org/viewtopic.php?p=745323#p745...

The next post will show the results of all these shenanigans and includes the file for those more interested in the details. Any comments or questions are welcome as usual.

Re: Assembly4: An Alternative to a Mastersketch for 'Solving' an Assembly--Update #8
One problem of using a mastersketch is that the edges and vertices can get renumbered for large changes in position of the geometry such as you might find in a complex set of linkages. If you try to attach LCS's to the sketch for assembly purposes then it is likely that they will jump positions and ...

Re: Manage constraints through sub-assembly ?
I think I have a problem with the structure of my main file. There is a macro in the AddOn manager which may help in analyzing your assembly structure: Yankee7.jpg It will produce a text file of the tree with the proper indentations: └ Assembly (Assembly) ├ Origin (Origin) │ ├ X-axis (XAxis) │ ├ Y-...

Re: Manage constraints through sub-assembly ?
I'll try this. I'll keep you informed. The points are created (Pt_Cardan & Point_1) But I can't associate the LCS (FixCardanNoixD) with my Cardan, I get this message Yeah, I have seen that message before but do not remember how it happens when trying to import datum. You should be able to impor...

Re: Manage constraints through sub-assembly ?
When installing the universal joint at the level of the Av cell, I noticed that another angular position was missing to align me with the output of the differential. You will need to add a reference point on the suspension body where the universal joint attaches. Import it to the assembly parent le...

Re: Assembly4: Universal (Cardan) Joint constraints--Single & Double with Variable Length Spacer Shaft
I can't start the universal joint movement from the "ASM4_Animate" icon? What variable to use. Both files universal_joint2--double and universal_joint2 must be open because the latter is a sub-assembly. The independent variable is alpha1 run from the universal_joint2 document. If you want...

Re: Manage constraints through sub-assembly ?
...but the third piece rotates then stops during the sequence. You are almost there. Just reverse the rotation of Cote-Cardan001 and change the animator from -180 to 180 deg as shown in the image. (If you use the Euler Z axis for Cote-Roue001 rotation then it is limited -180 to 180 deg.) The modifi...
