You could map sketch2 to the top face, or create a datum plane where you want it and then map it to that plane.
You can copy and paste a sketch from different files in FreeCAD.

Re: How to prevent and fix brocken links to external geometry?
Thanks for the link, I forgot about that.
It still breaks when I link to the arcs from the sketch and create the pocket from XY-Plane.

Re: How to prevent and fix brocken links to external geometry?
Sure: 1. Yes, element = geometry. 2. All partdesign features that depend on the broken sketch. I have attached an example: I did not delete the arc's that I are linked to in the pocket. I have only added a nose-like feature in the sketch yet the pocket is broken and I don't know how to fix it. Edit:...

How to prevent and fix brocken links to external geometry?
Hi, I'm really happy to see the big improvements in FreeCAD, especially in Sketcher and Partdesign over the last couple of years. Thanks a lot! I am still having a hard time with references to external geometries. I understand that it's best practice not to change topology of stuff that you are refe...

Re: 0.17 & Mac Mojave total crash
I'd be happy to help, but even getting FreeCAD compiled in debug mode on macOS Mojave seems to be too complicated at this time. I am trying to compile FreeCAD, basically following https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/CompileOnMac . As from another thread I installed brew install gmsh --with-opencascade a...

Nice tutorial! I am also very impressed to see where freecad is going.

Re: 0.17 & Mac Mojave total crash
For the freezing on MacOS Mojave I have found a hack that seems to work for others as well: start freecad inside terminal.
To do so open a new terminal window (cmd-space, type terminal, enter). then type:
/Applications/FreeCAD.app/Contents/MacOS/FreeCAD

Re: create lines for cutting
The width of the cut is not critical in my use case but it's good to see development in that direction.
I could not get open sketcher lines working in the path module yet.

create lines for cutting
Is there a way to create (non closed) lines on a body so that they appear in techdraw and exported svg's? I'm looking for better ways to create files for my lasercutter. As a workaround I am creating features and I'd take the created lines as a reference to create the lines 'by hand' in inkscape. Ed...

Re: Notice: minimum macOS version will be 10.12
From my experience most mac users keep their systems updated. I'm rather worried of FreeCAD soon not working on current OS'es. When Apple drops OpenGL support and requires apps to get "app notarization". I'm not a dev, but if I can help testing, I'd be glad to. Also I'd like to contribute ...
