Re: Freecad 0.20 no ejecuta
@uwestoehr this user says the -3 installer version of freecad 0.20.2 won't run on his windows 10 pc but the -2 installer works. Could you remind me what was difference between these? What could be the cause here? La diferencia es solamente the compilación de la workbench Sketcher". Hay un erro...

I will try. I was off the last 2 weeks and will try to provide a new 0.21 master build next on Tuesday.

Re: Not able to compile on windows
With build tools version 16.11.4 (I can compile with this version the latest code on another machine) What do you mean with Build tools, the ones the Visual Studio installer let you choose from? I should describe in https://wiki.freecad.org/Compile_on_Windows that one only has in the Visual Studio ...

Re: Not able to compile on windows
I managed to roll back to 17.5.1 and tried also 17.5.3 and 17.6.0 (from the update channel). The error persists. The error in your initial post is a boost error in Visual studio. Since version 17.5.3 this is fixed for me. BUT you must after the upgrade to this version recompile from scratch, meanin...

Re: Not able to compile on windows
The last Visual Studio update broke Boost compilation, if I recall correctly. @uwestoehr got bitten by this and advised me not to update yet, though, so I can’t confirm for sure. Yes, this was a super nasty issue. Microsoft needed three point releases to fix this properly. Since Visual Studio 17.5....

Re: unexplainable out of scope warning
Many thanks, I only saw the .exe and this requires admin privileges.adrianinsaval wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 6:22 pm what do you mean? graphviz has a zip file available at their downloads page: https://graphviz.org/download/
So ideally the Win installer should bundle Graphviz. I will have a look but won't have time until the 0.20.3 release.

Re: Notification Area issues
So, what's your problem, then? That normal (non-expert) users have no change to understand every warning but get every warning by default as popup. This breaks their workflow, leads to longer times to fulfill a task because not every warning hinders you from fulfilling your task. And therefore ther...

Re: unexplainable out of scope warning
Look at the dependency graph. OK. I had to install an external software to do this. Unfortunately I cannot bundle it with FreeCAD because the program requires admin privileges (I see no technical reason why btw.) This is odd because then only those who can convince their admin that they need this t...

Re: Notification Area issues
It seems you don't get my point that an average user != developer. I as developer of course look at warnings. And the discussion here is not about outputting warnings. It is whether to bother every user by default with every warning as popup or to let interested and expert users decide on their own ...

Re: Notification Area issues
Fact is that a warning may indicate a deeper problem and the notification area makes it more prominent. This increases the chance to fix it. Your preference is to completely suppress and ignore warnings but in the long run this will be harmful because things will never be fixed. What? I never said ...
