Re: [REQ] This is a formal request to support the USD format

I am specifically referring to getting things, like gears or even complete mechanisms, from FreeCAD to Blender. That would also imply, that it contains constraints or at least affiliation. At least for constraints, i can say, that would not work overarching anyway not without workarounds. That does...

Re: [REQ] This is a formal request to support the USD format

Hard surface visual assets, typically, are real things like gears and such. For that you choose one of the many other formats (dae, 3mf, stl, obj, xhtml, glTF, 3dmax), an animation format is even for that not really suited. Probability step or plain brep is for that better, to mesh it direct and no...

Re: [REQ] This is a formal request to support the USD format

getting hard surface assets from CAD to somewhere were they are very useful in scenes that are then communicated with USD would seem more useful Without any searching, i am sure 10 other formats can do it either and probably better, besides why should someone make visual assets in FreeCAD. And when...

Re: [GSoC 2024] Improve FreeCAD Hidden Line Removal

HLR (TechDraw) is always good. The just said, the deviation in FreeCAD is not that slow anymore, even it is only one view. Of course it is not that fast as in commercial CADs, but the improvements from wandererfan already pretty impressive. Also due parallel computation on more then one views, it is...

I also find the term weight unlucky. Thickness is more appropriate (and it needs units, since it is not unless). Also for (line)style (line)type is more appropriate.

Re: Why template object?

Then imo the template should not be a stand-alone object but should be a property group inside the page object. Yes, but as the original template suggestion, it should be able to support more formats. The svg format is indeed very unpractical for that, besides it is anyway no CAD format. But just b...

I am concluding nothing of the sorts... Definitive you have, because you have refer explicit to it. on the contrary I have asked for "integrated assembly WB" to beadded to to the existing topics on the assembly sub-forum. Neither i look former, nor yet. It does not matter. It was always f...

Re: New-old macro 'Wise1"

Well, when results of the functions are ordered in an odd and unmanageable way, it is still useless. Same structure tree means not same result. There still seems to be a misunderstanding: the results are not ordered differently, they are the same. Same tree, same properties same dependencies. I don...
