I'll also include the file as well the sketch titled "half pipe" is the actual part so it is not the sketch use for the cut

I've done this before and it really slows the computer down when I send it drawing or drawing dimensioning.
Have you've tried fasteners? It is a third party add-on.

Re: Welder looking to be more efficient using FreeCAD
I would like to cut one of my square tubes at 45 degrees, it is going to be a leg because what I'm making is top heavy. so adding legs at an angle will help with that.
I've attempted to add a draft to the hollow tube and I'm having trouble doing so. I've include a picture of what I'm trying to do.

Re: Welder looking to be more efficient using FreeCAD
Now BOLTS works for me, just convert desired units into mm and there it is. Thank you! This definitely speeds up time to create structural shapes even doing unit conversions. Thank you Bejant, Bernd, and Normand C for your time is much appreciated. If I can't find an existing topic covering the next...

Re: Welder looking to be more efficient using FreeCAD
There are only three Length Constraints in that Sketch: Height, Width, Wall Thickness. I can't figure out how to put an image so I've attached a file (screenshot.Png) of error. I'm still get this error message when I try to change the value of the dimension constraints. I'm also including a file of...

Re: Welder looking to be more efficient using FreeCAD
Change any of these values to your liking, and save the changed FreeCAD file as a new document. I started with a model of HSS 4 x 3 x 1/4 and it only took a few seconds to change it to HSS 2 x 2 x 1/8 as shown above and attached below. I actually prefer this also think about creating a library of a...

Re: Welder looking to be more efficient using FreeCAD
Feel free to document some of your experience for potentially other welders who use FreeCAD. Absolutely, I was hoping the subject of this thread will attract other welders/fabricators to help answer similar questions. And hopefully help benefit the developers of FreeCAD with input from my end. With...
