Actually Part Compound sounds like something I've been looking for.

The only reason I fuse all the sub-assemblies is so that I can transfer the whole project into the Drawing Workbench and that's the only way I know how to do it.

Being this is my first post, I want to say Free CAD has an easier to understand interface at first glance as opposed to AutoCAD.
