Re: can I work "iteratively" with the openscad workbench?

realthunder, thanks for your excellent work on this version. I am attempting to follow your instructions on using freecadLink with Jupyter. When I enter your specified comand, I get the error: Please download the latest release image. The hard coded Python problem in windows release has already bee...

Re: Topological Naming, My Take

Edit: same comment, the toponaming I described here is not the new one because I did not compiled your linkdaily branch. But here I can say that the behavior was more reliable in a previous daily build win64-Py3-Qt5 20201019. Anyway, maybe my comments are outdated, if so I'm sorry for the noise. No...

Re: Converting from a different rotation system.

I also notice that the error is not at 652, but the toEuler call is in the function processRotation and if I alter it to toEuler() from toEuler('ixyz') I don't get the error. toEuler() is the old function. The function I added is called toEulerAngles(). The source code here that can be found at her...

chrisb wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 8:07 am Thanks for the splitting. These still sounds rather big. Can they be split further, especially the first PR you describe?
The first PR mostly consists of new source code files. I am not sure how to split that. I can of course logically group those files and other changes into separate commits.

Re: Werner, please tell us what you need for 0.20

Since Sketcher is quite isolated from the rest of FreeCAD, and if your PRs allow that, I'd vote for inverting the order of these PRs: treat first the Sketcher case, and then Part and PartDesign cases. We could test the topo-naming solution intensively with assemblies and master-sketches. I can subm...

Re: Linkstage3 branch 3D view experimental renderer

I have sync your branch yesterday but I can't find this setting in Preferences/Display menu though. Does I get you wrong? Does this renderer need some additional libraries? I would like so much to test such alternative to Coin3D on my Raspberry PI4 system :) The renderer is in the LinkDaily branch....

Re: [App::Link] How to Make Dynamic Linked Object Based on Expression

Sure you can. The expression syntax for referring to an object is ObjectName._self. You can even refer to an object in an external document DocName#ObjectName._self. Or, if you prefer to use label for reference, <<ObjectLabel>>._self, and <<DocLabel>>#<<ObjectLabel>>._self To bind an expression for ...

Re: Werner, please tell us what you need for 0.20

I will start submitting (relatively) smaller PR for topo naming very soon. Here is the plan. The first PR will mostly consist of extra codes that has more or less no effect on existing code, but then I'm not sure how to test without code using those extras. The second PR will focus on getting Part o...

Re: Assembly3 preview

This is minor but in the spreadsheet you have to type 'inch'. 'in' does not work but will display if that is what is set to display. 'mm' is ok. In 19.1 and back 'in' was OK. 'inch is not' 'in' is a reserved keyword in the extended Expression Syntax in my branch. For compatibility with the upstream...

Re: Assembly3 preview

@realthunder should we exclude asm3 from the 0.19.1 release? For now I simply used the 0.19.pre bundles as base and there we have installed some additional addons. Isn't the solvespace solver bundled in to asm3 ? If so then there may be a licensing issue since it's GPL2 as it's pre-bundled in FC Ap...
