Well, Blender was once a smaller project too (like Freecad) . But they managed to pull the right strings and they got where they are now with right choices and with a long term vision. I personally believe that Freecad can become and will become a leader in CAD/CAM but only if right choices are made...

The 3 larger holes are drawn as circles. The small holes are drawn as ellipses (as they should be in a projection). I know that. It is intentional. So how can I dimension this? TD uses the traditional "+" for center marks. The center marks can be used as dimension end points. Ok I understand this and now I have one problem less. But center mark is only visible if you look at the hole from the top (!) , but not from the side, so you can't dimension it's coordinat...

Never mind. I created my own .svg balloons which work fine. Thank god! Also I learned that even in balloons I can add editable Freecad text. The end result is in the attachment.
