Re: Sketch on curves
This slide show represents my notes on how to use the Curves>Sketch on surface. https://youtu.be/B8djHCnAxWI?si=i1R-eVfElqiByf84 You'll note the use of the Properties of the Sketch on surface to create the solid that will be embossed. Later near the end you can see the Cut that actually caused the e...

Re: Editing a STEP file
Assuming the imported step geometry has no issues. You will need to slice the hook off the main section fill where it was, move the hook portion, then fuse things back together. TBH, unless the other side is more complicated, it might be easier to model it from scratch using the import as a template...

Re: Add threads to an existing design
Left my crystal ball at home today. Are they standard threads? If not, then they may need to be modeled. What workbench did you try. Have you looked at the thread tutorial: https://wiki.freecad.org/Thread_for_Screw_Tutorial It shows what needs to be done if the thread is not a standard fastener. If ...

Re: View keeps spinning and zooming
What is the purpose of such a "feature"? Why would I not want the rotation to stop? The purpose is to find a position I would like to view. It could be used for presentations. I agree though, that this is probably a feature which is used rare enough to be removed from the mouse handling. ...

Re: Setting to highlight faces of feature, not entire body
@drmacro Is there an analysis tool or macro that will highlight the faces involved with the selected feature(s), aka "instructions"? NOTE: I do use Set Tip, which is equivalent to Roll Back in other software. There are macros that play with such thing. Check out the Addon manager. I think...

Re: View keeps spinning and zooming
With a simple 3 button (roller middle button) mouse and CAD mode selected, the whole "continue rotation for some period after I let go of the buttons in a particular sequence" feature annoying. Even though I have it turned off in Preferences, it seems to ignore those and still does the con...

Re: Setting to highlight faces of feature, not entire body
@drmacro Yeah, realizing this way too late in the game. PD is most familiar in terms of functions, but this is a giant issue when you have >10 features thereabouts. I've always been in the practice of naming features as I go, so I have some feedback there. I find Part WB to be cumbersome as you hav...

Re: Setting to highlight faces of feature, not entire body
These feature can simplyfi the part post inspection. My ideal tool: select feature in the tree and highly the changed things that remark the feature result. Not fully what you desire, but you can set the feature you desire to see as the Tip. The Body then represents that step in the accumulation. J...
