Re: Merging of my Link branch
When i test Topo Naming effort in your branch. There is still too little results in my opinion and i rarely see any difference. Compared to stock FreeCAD. That leads me to believe there is still much work to be done in the Topo Naming effort area. Out of curiosity, how and what did you test? Your s...

Re: Merging of my Link branch
I was just restating what realthunder said earlier in this thread: Yes, splitting requires a lot of repeated works, and prone to introducing new bugs. But even if I do this, some feature may still be too big, and there is still no guarantee of more testers. In fact, some new features will be more di...

Re: Merging of my Link branch
As realthunder is rebasing and keeping up to date with the master branch, everything that is in the freecad repo is already included in realthunders branch. Splitting it up to smaller merges would be a terrible waste of time. We can already test, find and solve issues with the complete package of ch...

Re: Merging of my Link branch
Maybe we should start issues on the actual github linkstage3 page to have proper separation and followup. It will be messy to keep track of everything with 2 threads and several reporters. Btw i think realthunder is close to a new release, things might have been left unfinished for now on the github...

Re: Merging of my Link branch
What are you talking about? 0.17 was just released, we are early 0.18, its bricking time! ^_^ Btw realthuder released appimages just download and execute. He made me stop making my freecad daily builds that had become a ritual for me since 2011.. Actually have only been using his branch for the last...

Re: Merging of my Link branch
As you say review is more or less impossible given the size vs developers. What i would like to see is a part design next kind of merge that probably will brick a lot of stuff. But it will expand the amount of testers and it will be easier to fix what will break then to review, argue about and modif...

Re: Merging of my Link branch
This breaks my heart a bit.. Back in 2011, I really wanted to use FreeCAD for our robotics project ( building soccer playing robots ). 20120206_111211.jpg 20120206_111508.jpg But we had to give up on FreeCAD as we really needed an assembly system. Today with PDN and spreadsheets we would probably ha...

Re: Help with 3D Printing
Printed only the upper section of the Clasp/post… It printed fine. Photo attached (did not print it for good quality - print settings at end of post). Great job! If you check the image in the first post you can see that they printed with support, also for the "middle pin" (thats the recta...

Re: Assembly3 preview
For the case where change in partA should trigger change in partB: You can specify parameters in a sheet then use those while designing different parts. Not sure if you can share sheet parameters between documents but if you keep bodies and assembly in the same file it will work. Change in partA wil...
