Re: Navigation Cube

Ok, well I don't think the cube as such could be subject to copyright. The code yes, but the code is 100% original so that is not an issue. The "art work" i.e. graphics could in theory be subject to copyright but I'm very doubtful they are because they are so generic. Just round cornered r...

Re: Navigation Cube

First of all It does not look exactly the same. Also, can anyone point a case where copyright would have been invoked in comparable instance. This is not an icon or graphics but a widget that changes appearance and I don't see how copyright could be invoked on it: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/...

Re: Navigation Cube

Well that was my intention [to make it as close to Onshape as possible], so obviously I do not see that as a problem. I think it is an advantage when different systems have similar features which behave in familiar ways. IMO Onshape gets so many things right (of course it is far from perfect and evo...

Re: Navigation Cube

Can you elaborate with "can we really go with this design" ?

Are you implying that there are something bothers you?

Are you referring to the functionality, aesthetic or code quality?

Re: Navigation Cube

I've made some progress that I've not yet pushed but life has intervened and I expect really to get back to this after the gardening season is over ;) but what I could do is to push what I've got to canvas comments.

Re: Announce first iteration of NaviCube for FreeCAD

That menu is for view related commands, yet to be defined. Perhaps this could be something that the user could customise via python or something. I thin 'Piemenu' modula has something like that. In Onshape this menu has stuff as below (not suggesting FreeCAD should take this onboard lock stock and b...

Re: Announce first iteration of NaviCube for FreeCAD

Hi, I can't test this as I'm MacOs only as far compiling FreeCAD is concerned. However, I very much doubt this has anything to do with my changes as all I did to the the code in 'master' branch was add to lines to an existing .cpp file, added the dependency to library that is already used in the pro...
