Refine tries to find if there are faces that can be created from same underlying geometry (plane, cylinder, sphere, ...) and if they are found...

My brute force experiment. Set number of occurences to 18 to get the shape in the screenshot.

Re: SubShapeBinder does not work between bodies under same Part?
Do you have the opportunity to test it "out of the box" without additional workbenches and makros? Yes, I just renamed FreeCAD config folder. And the issue persists. Tried sketch in XZ plane, then sketch in XY plane - same result. Here is Report view log: 23:04:56 Loading Assembly workben...

Re: Disc creation of chamfer - [BUG]?
It is hard to determine which direction of the chamfer you want the angle to be based of. So there is some internal logic but if it is not what you want it is better to remove the unwanted edges and make a new chamfer with only those with the complementary angle 4x60deg.

SubShapeBinder does not work between bodies under same Part?
So I am trying to design a roller and since it consists of some different parts I decided to use proper Part/body hierarchy. And since different bodies have matching faces it makes sense to draw them in one body and use SubShapeBinder to transfer the shape to another body. But there is a problem. Th...

Re: What is the largest size drawing in inches that can be drawn using this program?
sketch multiplier checkbox Sketch was a simple circle so no problems there. PC hung when I tried to pocket. I suspect the actual OpenCASCADE pocket operation was Ok but the tesselation algorithm for the visual representation after that took a lot of memory... Anyway not a recommended setup unless y...

Re: Is it possible to Trim Edges while preserving constraints ? [solved]
IMHO that would only work if the trimmed part is automatically replaced with the same geometry but construction mode and necessary constraints are applied. Which in most cases will overcomplicate the sketch ?!?

Re: What is the largest size drawing in inches that can be drawn using this program?
ll I tried 10 000 km cube and t worked. But when I tried pocketing a 1000km circle through it my PC hung and I had to reset it after some minutes. I thing that the main problem is shape tesselation with big objects and possible rounding/precision errors if working with objects of different scale - l...
