Place window in a pitched roof object
Hi, Is there a reccomended way to place a window into a sloping face generated by the roof object? I am struggling to consistently and accurately place windows into a sloping roof face. I have tried numerous different combinations of draft snaps and and working planes. The best way I have come up wi...

Re: Draft workspace grid related drawing aids disappear when an imageplane is visible
@Kunda1 the Appimage FreeCAD_0.18.13971.glibc2.17-x86_64.AppImage works as expected. I will do the drafting with that and then switch back to release version. I like what I see of the new version. I hope it releases soon
Thanks,
Roger

Re: Loop when recomputing pipe when right corner mode selected
Answering my own question.
I had forgotten to put the cross section sketch in a plane orthogonal to the path sketch.
It appears that for the transform corner mode this does not matter, but for the right and round modes it does.
Maybe some extra validation should be done here to prevent the lockup.

Loop when recomputing pipe when right corner mode selected
I am trying to model a simple wire handle with right or swept round corners using an additive pipe in part design. The cross section sketch contains a single circle geometry. The profile path sketch contains a 3 segment line. Both are fully constrained. I can make this work in a simple test file (at...

Re: Help required with PartDesign AdditivePipe
Ok Now got the object I want. Decided to use additive loft instead of additive pipe because My path is always linear. Tried to put all the profiles into one loft but the result was weird. But no crashes. A two profile loft was fine but any more and things went a bit crazy. So final attempt was just ...

Re: Help required with PartDesign AdditivePipe
Without your FreeCAD info, a file, and a precise description of what you have done it is difficult to tell. Well, as for me, he didn't even bother downloading my file and checking it, so if my help is going to be ignored, I'll simply stop trying to. He's going straight to my ignore list. Hey, that ...

Re: Help required with PartDesign AdditivePipe
I made a little more progress today. At one point I had a working 3 section pipe going giving a length of flattened straw followed by a transition to a circular section. Unfortunately when I tried adding another circular section to produce a length of circular pipe Freecad crashed and trashed the fi...

Re: Help required with PartDesign AdditivePipe
wearyhacker already said he's looking for a straw with both ends flattened. There is no justification for making a polygon rather than a circle. I think this is what he wants. As I wrote previously, it's rather simplified. I ended up doing half of it in a PD Body then doing a Part Mirror then Part ...
