Re: Is it possible to work in units of microns in FreeCAD?
Thanks for all the tips, I will give them a try and see if I can get by. This next question probably requires a separate post but it has to do with inserting that chip photo to trace (Image scale is 1mm = 3042 pixels). Apparently there is an image workbench but positioning it based on a corner of th...

Re: Is it possible to work in units of microns in FreeCAD?
That sounds like a no. I used microns in Autodesk Inventor but that isn’t available to me anymore and using mm is just messy to read. Ugh.

Is it possible to work in units of microns in FreeCAD?
Is it possible to work in units of microns and possibly in mils with FreeCAD? I need to trace out semiconductor devices on an integrated circuit chip image with sketcher so the "parts" are very small. I also need to set a background grid in sketcher to 2.5 microns (with some snap ability t...

Re: Assembly3 preview
Sorry to deviate from the direction of this thread. I posted it here since this is where most of the action is with developing an assembly module for FreeCAD and that involves solvers. Move my post to some place more appropriate if you wish but i think some of the following might prove useful. It is...

Re: Hardware Recommendations for FreeCAD
Thought I would put this video on hardware requirements for CAD. What can one get away with using consumer cards? Benchmarks included.
Video is from 2018.

FreeCAD challenge and advanced tutorial on surfacing.
I have not attempted the following tutorial from a Solidworks Surfacing guru but thought someone might do something similar with FreeCAD. My experience is to limited with FreeCAD and therefore inefficient or inelegant so i will not attempt it. The link is to a picture of modern sunglasses but not th...

I think after realthunders topological naming stuff gets put in with pre-0.20 then it can be released as 1.0 next year.

BIM Certificate, what does this involve?
What is BIM certification? Is this just hype? What are some recommended colleges to get one? Online classes are a preference. Thanks.
