Re: involute gear generator preview

I'm curious how exactly you did that? Is there a specific tool for it in Alibre? No such luck!! (at least not in what I use - the lowest of 3 tiers of Alibre - "Personal Edition") How then? OK. Just remember you asked. For the uninformed: An involute is the line scribed by a pencil ...

Re: How do I insert a plane?

First, I apologize for my oversight in not including a link. I made a note to self to remember to include *everything* that will make it easier for you folks who help us. And yes, that link is to the tutorial I was referencing. So If I understand correctly, the capability exists in the v0.14 develop...

Re: Trim caused "program not responding" crash (WinXP)

Sorry, but this isn't possible because these shortcuts are already used by the standard view commands.
As was noted in MantisBT #1189, re-arranging the icons would work. Too bad "customize" doesn't work. Any idea when that function may be operational?

Re: Trim caused "program not responding" crash (WinXP)

Yeah, I figured it out. Next subject: (since you mentioned it) and the 0-6 keys on the Num keyboard to switch views. Do you think it would be a big deal to have the numerical sequence, 0-6, match the positional sequence of the associated icons in the toolbar? That would be so much more intuitive. Or...

Re: Trim caused "program not responding" crash (WinXP)

Just a quickie test of that "M" option. http://en.zimagez.com/miniature/m-linemoption.jpg M-opt-test.FCStd The 2 end arcs were drawn with the M option. The long central arcs are just arcs. Had to set some constraints to get the figure closed for padding. I played around with it and it isn'...

Re: Trim caused "program not responding" crash (WinXP)

A tip you may not know and I'm not sure it's in the FreeCAD wiki: the Sketcher polyline tool has multiple modes that can be toggled with the letter M.
Whoa!! Thanks a lot. I gotta check that out.

ps. I don't use the alphabetic shortcuts. So... Are they case sensitive?
