Re: mixing c++ and python memory models.

wmayer found the bug which was causing huge memory losses but it seems the whole c++/py mix in inherently messy. Maybe some things could be improved if python guys were more aware of the guts of CXX code and how to avoid the pitfalls and limitations ( but that is probably not what python progammers ...

%D directory

Hi, on recent builds I have noticed that I'm getting a directory named "%D" created in the working directory at the time FC is run. This would seem to relate to the %D macro in postprocessing which should be expanded to substitute the current working directory. Files are still getting created correc...

Re: perennial boundary clearance problem.

@GeneFC
Ah, I need click on the Extensions tab and check the faces to extend, otherwise I get no path at all.

What you showed was exactly what I was trying to do. Thanks for the hint.

perennial boundary clearance problem.

Hi, I always have trouble with FC not cutting a pocket fully because it's scared to cut air or unused stock. AFAIKT this is a fundamental limitation of the 2.5D tool design. However, I thought this was handled more ably by the 3D tools. I've seen posts saying there are options to handle this from ti...

Re: face mill div zero

nice work Russ. So that bug was just an indentation issue , LOL. That is one of the most insane aspects of python, where the entire structure of a program can be changed by a missing or incorrect indentation. This often makes it very hard to work out where the real cause of the syntax error is. It s...

Re: GRBL Pull Requests / Merge conflicts

thanks for merging the G83 code. I'm looking at reworking the other PR. I have 25% to 33% time improvement on limited tests. With long output of 3Dsurface paths that's appreciated. can you comment on this snippet, it does not look right to me. if command == "message": if OUTPUT_COMMENTS is False: ou...

sorry , I did not see the word "upstream" when I read ..your question earlier.

Well over a year since I posted that and no response, so I would not hold my breathe on that one.

Re: face mill div zero

Also enableRotation is off for this path and this code should not be getting called at all. If set enableRotation to A(x) I do get what looks like a correct face mill path that I would expect without rotation but still get the div zero. I think I've found the trigger for this bug. In this file the s...

face mill div zero

Hi, I did a new pull from master yesterday and I'm getting a div zero error when I try to create a face milling operation: 06:11:11 Free SelectOS: Fedora 31 (Thirty One) (LXDE/LXDE) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.19.22808 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: master Hash...
