Re: Python 3.8.1 - UTF-8 support missing

Thanks for testing. I am still not sure why this simple example works and the initialization of workbenches shows the error. But the problem seems to be related to a missing environment variable in the dmg. Please test if adding this line in Contents/MacOS/FreeCAD (somewhere above the last line) sol...

Re: Python 3.8.1 - UTF-8 support missing

Or is it a task to do for the one who compiles the download bundles? yes we simple need to select python3.7 for the build and bundling process. But I am not yet sure this is really a py3.8 problem. So we should test this. Is only the MacOS version of FreeCAD already bundled with Python or is it the...

If they are old style anyway, a decent fix is to change Jürgen to Juergen. I can do it, unless luzpaz's changes can be rolled back.
In my mind this is only a work around. If this is really a py3.8 issue we need to find a proper solution. In the meantime we can also switch back to py3.7.

Re: Python 3.8.1 - UTF-8 support missing

I guess this problem only occurs with execed files and therefore isn't present for new-style modules. This would also explain why adding the utf8 line on top of those files doesn't help. The problem isn't present in python3.7? Anyone able to run this in the freecad-console? exec("# Jürgen makes prob...

Re: Python 3.8.1 - UTF-8 support missing

I got a error for pyflow too (time.clock()): https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 60#p361244 you can use clock.process_time() for py3 but this doesn't work in py2: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/commit/6866397c14226a504232b027b73ce4085e73f01e I have no idea about the unicode problem. Thi...

Re: Proposed change to Coin font handling; testers needed

Next appimage and dmg will include the mentioned commit. This happened accidently by pushing to a wrong branch, but we can revert if things are broken... edit: somehow things went totally other than expected and now the package was uploaded to the wanted channel. Anyway I did some tests and didn't s...

Didn't check and i will just ask, is this already done for the (0.19) binaries? If not it would be great if it could be done ASAP. As doing it a few days before release is likely a bad idea.
sure. appimage and dmg are already using py38 / occt7.4.

Re: [done for master / waiting for freecad 0.19 release] conda: python3.8 is coming

P.S. As for FreeCAD 0.19 release, i am guessing that should happen around April, it would be good if packages would be tested for a month or two and wouldn't change before doing a release. Sure. If python 3.8 and occt7.4 still have issues I guess we should go for py3.7 and occt7.3. But still I beli...

Re: Assembly3 preview

For appimage and dmg the solvespace package is already included. Better to not use pip for these builds as compatibility is not guaranteed.

Re: Coin3D - FreeCAD Delegation to help move Coin3D forward

Ot.: PySide2 5.14 on Qt 5.12 (Debian's current configuration.) Regarding pyside2 devs pyside2 version should match the qt version. On conda-forge we didn't know about this but 5.14 showed that it won't work without patching with qt5.12. As we already used pyside2 5.13 with qt5.12 we are now patching...
