Re: Number of Edges and Faces in Mesh

If you have column element, edge and face is not a must to form the FemMesh object.

Re: "Elmer Tutorial GUI 01 - Heat equation – Temperature field of a solid object" setup

the user can change it through the gui. In the prefs of the gmsh object. I can't find it in my version. Which version? OS: Windows 10 (10.0) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.19.22900 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: master Hash: b7b4250b7fe5e98bcdbe2a7c7be256132b35cd...

Re: Generate a truss and analysis with frame3DD

I'm wanting to build some steel trusses in FreeCAD and ensure the design will not fail. The designs I like are the attic truss and the three-piece raised centre bay truss. If I design these in FreeCAD, can it calculate moments, stress, etc. and solve like other tools? Frame3DD can do the calculatio...

Re: issues with region meshing and jac < 0 (0.19dev master)

This demo case also got jac < 0 problem https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=52767 By let meshing in 1st order, eliminated the error. The geometry is similar which formed by cylinder. By default, FreeCAD meshing is in 2nd order. You may try it. Change YourFreeCAD\Mod\Fem\femobjects\mesh...

Re: "Elmer Tutorial GUI 01 - Heat equation – Temperature field of a solid object" setup

So 2nd order is not good for this kind of object with simple plains.

I don't think set the default at 2nd order is a good idea. Ordinary user should be ok with 1st order. Better this setting is open to user, they could change through the gui.

Re: "Elmer Tutorial GUI 01 - Heat equation – Temperature field of a solid object" setup

Importing/macro works, but I get mesh errors with gmsh, This is not Elmer's original mesh, but meshed with gmsh. I tried to use Elmer's mesh, comment out this line in src/Mod/Fem/femsolver/elmer/writer.py, not to write out gmsh mesh. https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/blob/master/src/Mod/Fem/femsol...

"Elmer Tutorial GUI 01 - Heat equation – Temperature field of a solid object" setup

Hi, The case is descripted in https://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/physics/elmer/doc/ElmerTutorials.pdf The model is from https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=44705&start=490#p422539 Install: Copy the elmerTutorials_GUI01_HeatEquation_TemperatureFieldOfASolidObject.py file into YourFreeCAD\...
