Re: intersection of surface and curve

PartWB Section, should work also for a curve from two surfaces... The CurvesWB Mixed curve, can give you a curve directly from two curves/sketches.

Re: Development of an Optimization workbench

This type of general optimization is actually not that much related strictly just to FEM, in this topic https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=41605&start=30#p356752 I have listed a few tools and some videos for optimization, surrogate modeling and new possibilities with neural different...

Re: Part Primitives, Create Tube has no Map-Mode

If some of this features that work in an explicit way are implemented in such a way that it is impossible to make them associative (fully parametric) or until they are changed to work in this way, I would suggest to make their icons in a special color (maybe pink?) or use the existing small overlay ...

Re: Freecad 0.19 versus Solidworks 2020, three arm part demo

Well my argument is that simply by showing and teaching the users how it can be done now, we are actually teaching them of doing it the wrong way... Then please create a video and show how you think it should be constructed. It is not that you did it wrongly, but that FreeCAD has such issues and so...

Re: Freecad 0.19 versus Solidworks 2020, three arm part demo

saso, I cannot follow your twofold arguments. Looking at the part level everything is as attached as it can be. Where else would you attach it without adding obscuring and unneeded additional stuff. To repeat: That holds if you look just at this part. As I said above the Sketch and Tube are not att...

Re: Freecad 0.19 versus Solidworks 2020, three arm part demo

My dear colleagues. This is the tutorials and video thread. Discussions regarding the models shown or the procedure please lead elsewhere, e.g. in the discussion thread, thank you. Well my argument is that simply by showing and teaching the users how it can be done now, we are actually teaching the...

Re: Freecad 0.19 versus Solidworks 2020, three arm part demo

In case of the need to move the whole object, I would rather vote to leave everything as is and put it all in a Part container and move that, instead of obscuring things with unneeded attachments just to be prepared. I was expecting this comment since yes, it is possible to do that, however it is n...

Re: Freecad 0.19 versus Solidworks 2020, three arm part demo

Hi Saso, regarding Part versus PartDesign there is currently a thread. Some argue that the PartDesign workflow is modern, with a linear feature history in the model tree. This was already in 1985, with the very first Pro-Engineer version. So this workflow is outdated. It is not for nothing that dir...
