Re: Realthunders work

this community is unfortunately mostly like... simple_answers.jpg and asking realthunder for a new feature is unfortunately mostly like... what I would like knife.jpg what I get swiss.jpg and following the logic of the first image, many users would say "hey but this is sooooo much better"... no it i...

Re: lgtm does not finish for Python

Yes, unfortunately it has been like this for some time now, I have contacted them about it and got this answer... We've introduced some new CodeQL libraries recently in the Python analysis, and know about some projects that this have caused problems for. We're working on getting this resolved, but s...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Most parametric cad programs indeed have this option, some have it as default, some have it as an option... https://youtu.be/vz7m_D1L1tI?t=232 https://youtu.be/g-JThS6inJc?t=136 https://youtu.be/J1LJH2t-lhw?t=216 https://youtu.be/mDGKlLwXYic?t=186 https://youtu.be/w80t77Ce34M?t=176 https://youtu.be/...

Re: photogrammetry to CAD

You would probably need a laser scan for such high precisions... And if you need it just for reference why using the mesh, why not just the point could?

Re: First Try with FreeCAD and a Sketch based Architectural Workflow

Yes, that's the conclusion I've reached. I'm not doing this professionally yet, so I'm just trying to see where can I go to. The best workflow will probably not use sketches all the way. It is a normal thing, when we learn how to use the hammer we want to use it for everything :) Have also a look a...

Re: First Try with FreeCAD and a Sketch based Architectural Workflow

There are always different ways how one could go to model something, so maybe you will find a way that you are going on with the sketches, but IMO you are probably trying to solve to much just with sketches and planes... Here is one quick and simple example of a possible way to do a shape like that....

Re: First Try with FreeCAD and a Sketch based Architectural Workflow

Interesting, curious why you are modelling like this using DD, extrusion, rather than e.g. generic Wall, Window etc. We could have a long debate on this, but in short, because it is IMO the proper way to model in a fully parametric cad system. See, my Window001 is from the internal structure actual...

I'm coming from Sketchup... I'm completely low level on this.
Ok, well we are all just exploring and continuously learning along the way :)

Re: First Try with FreeCAD and a Sketch based Architectural Workflow

It's nice that when I remove a sketch element they were based on they don't go awire, they just pop up an sign. You should probably not do that  I honestly got a bit lost with the names and IDs mapping concept. Sorry. I guess that even if I have to replace the old export by the new one in mult...
