Re: Assembly3 preview
Would you mind giving the shortcut thing a try with the same path I have? Im sure if you get the "Windows cant create a shortcut here. Do you want to place the shortcut to the desktop instead?" you will know whats going on. I tried that, and yes it does complain about the shortcut. This is expected...

Re: Assembly3 preview
Before I start to install all the above, is it really nesessary? I assumed those are related to compiling from source? Im running on windows 10 64-bit and using FreeCAD-asm3-Daily-Win64-Py3-Qt5-20210112 By right, you do not need to install anything in order to run it. I just tried the shortcut thin...

So this morning I was able to run your version of freecad but only if I ran it directly from the exe, making a shortcut came up with a bunch of errors starting with python36.dll not found. Well this afternoon I cant start it even from the folder, I started to try...

Re: Current Assembly Status
You need to install the last 0.19 version to get the workbenches working. v0.18, although stable version, does not provide them, and the add-on manager is somehow broken. If you check my first post you'll see that I have 0.19. jp_math said last 0.19 version. I had this same issue with an earlier ve...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench
There is a button for that: import datum. In the Model, select LCS2 of Body2, and click import datum: it will create an LCS in the Model and attach it to the placement of LCS2, and you can then use the resulting Model as subassembly in a higher level assembly. The LCS2 in the Model will always foll...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench
Hello, I have tried googling and trying out stuff but cant figure out is there a way to link LCS from a body to a model. Re: Assembly 4 workbench
What is the corect method on adjusting the relations? Should I edit the parts LCS so that they are offsetted for parts to mate or should I offset stuff in assembly? hum .... not an easy question. The most reliable is to place the LCS where it belongs, with the correct angle, and attach a part direc...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench
Probably adding the file and version info helps... If you want anyone to look at your file you have to include all of the files linked in the assembly. I apologize, I just assumed they were all "built in" but it makes sense that the assembly is more like a linker file. I edited the previous post. I...
