In PartDesign use a shapebinder.

Make the loft invisible using the space-bar, and the sketches(3) likewise and you can see how it was modeled.

The first type of path can be realised using willfred's method, two sketches extruded to planes and boolean commoned.

The second type can be achieved by projecting a sketch onto the surface (curves WB).

What does your dependency graph show?

They look like grid artifacts. You could try opening a sketch and switching the grid off, it really shouldn't be there so it's straw clutching.

Your sketch is made from construction lines, they cannot form solid geometry.

Select them and toggle to regular (white) lines.

If you intend to work in PD workbench you will need an active body before the sketch can be padded.

How can you say,it works then it doesn't, when you've made wholesale changes one model to the next?
