Re: Cannot reference sketch from the same body

Thanks for confirming. If I rebuild the object I cannot reproduce.

realthunder: this seems to be implied by the Big Merge, so could you please have a look?

Re: Using Parts in Path from an Assembly 4

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I'm not familiar with Assembly4. Which file should be opened from the zip archive? (Besides: you should not upload your backup files).

Re: Idea conver STL to Solid

I still see the performance issue. The G-codes do not describe an area they describe just a path. This needs additional offsets and then it can be extruded to a solid. You would have a huge number of segments and a huge number of layers to fusion with a boolean union. You may give it a try but I wou...

Re: Converting a circle to a hole -

You're welcome. Some further remarks on your model: - The file contains an empty Part container - remove it - instead of repeating the diameter in Holes001 you should use an equality constraint - if the circles are supposed to be in the middle use symmetry an a point element - I don't understand at ...

Re: Creating different thread molding with the ThreadProfile WB

The Saw tooth thread could have the advantage that it can be printed without overhangs. Like chamfers are printer friendly as opposed to fillets.

Re: Idea conver STL to Solid

You mean you want to sweep along the GCode path with a rectangular section? I see some drawbacks with this: 1) Depending on the size of the section the object would be hollow 2) there is the danger of self intersections 3) probably most serious: I have never seen a sweep with nearly as many path seg...

Re: Creating a face from sketch failed

You can customize colors in the preferences.

You should work through the PartDesign Tutorials to learn how to reference external geometry. Later you will learn that it is even better to reference sketches instead of solids.

Re: Problem with Gear Teeth in the side of a simple cylindere

You can do this in one step by using a sketch containing 8 (semi-) circles for a pocket or by making one pocket plus a polar pattern. I will now go for the latter: - revolve the sketch so that you get what you have shown in the picture above - create a sketch in the XY plane - while in Sketcher swit...

Re: Creating a face from sketch failed

Don't put it all in one sketch. You can think of a model like this: You start at the outside and cross a line of the sketch. Now you are inside of the solid. whenever you cross the same or another line, you will be outside again. Furthermore, in PartDesign you are only allowed to one contiguous soli...
