I think most straight forward method is to create placeholder surface constraints. Then Just start the inp creation. then before running edit the inf file. Maybe it is time to implement a place holder constraint with just something as a surface color for visual and a user defined name so it is easy ...

Maybe i'm late to the party. but may i ask why you want add a offset in sketcher? In my opinion works a thickness in the extrude / revolve tool better and gives more flexebilty too (thikness on inside outside or over center). When something has to be changed it is faster. Theretically it should work...

The problem described here is that it does ACCEPT characters that will produce invalid variable names. But another problem is that it will prevent me from using "My &!%!$%! cat space width" as a constraint name which I need to just locate it in the sketch constraint list without entering sketch edi...
