Re: Trying to Launch FreeCAD 0.16 on Ubuntu Bionic inside a Linux Proot on arm64 device?

Ah, well the first thing I would suggest then is to remove and recreate your build directory, and then run cmake with only the path to the source. If you see the same behavior then that at least would rule out a few options, specifically that the issue is not caused by a dirty build dir or incorrect...

Re: Trying to Launch FreeCAD 0.16 on Ubuntu Bionic inside a Linux Proot on arm64 device?

No I haven't changed anything with python before. Anyway following your suggestion, cMake and make worked. However unfortunately after several hours of make, launching FreeCAD gives a segfault. Hmm, but the output of ls -l /usr/bin/python2.7 showed the wrong file ownership (should be root/root but ...

Re: Trying to Launch FreeCAD 0.16 on Ubuntu Bionic inside a Linux Proot on arm64 device?

Hah, so that's simple enough to fix, it's missing execute permissions which can be fixed with sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/python2.7, but the python2.7 binary provided by your system package should already have this set. Did you modify this yourself?

Re: GSoC2020, FEM: extend examples

Why not use the PPA in an Ubuntu 18.04 VM? If you have virtualization turned on in your BIOS you should be able to just do e.g. sudo apt install virt-manager (which should also pull in libvirt-daemon-system), then launch Virtual Machine Manager, download an 18.04 ISO and create the VM.

You ran this: root@localhost:/home/andrutu/Downloads/freecad-build# cmake -D PYTHON_EXECUTABLE=/usr/bin/python2.7 \ -DPYTHON_INCLUDE_DIR=/u sr/include/python2.7m \ -DPYTHON_LIBRARY=/usr/lib/arm-linux-gn ueabihf/libpython2.7m.so \ -DPAGESTHON_PACK=/local/lib/python2 .7/dist-packages/ ../FreeCAD-0.18....

Re: Trying to Launch FreeCAD 0.16 on Ubuntu Bionic inside a Linux Proot on arm64 device?

Code: Select all

-DPAGESTHON_PACK
Typo? Should be -DPYTHON_PACKAGES_PATH, and the value you've set it to is wrong as well.

Also, are you sure all those CMake flags are required? Why don't you try without them?

It sounds like Python 2 may not be installed... did you try installing it? Are you following a guide or something on building FreeCAD?
