Re: Compiling source code - unmet dependencies

The next step is to take the dependencies it complains about and try to install them, for example: Depends: libgts-dev but it is not going to be installed Depends: libvtk7-dev but it is not going to be installed Try to install those and eventually you should be able to find the underlying conflictin...

Re: compile/build 0.19 on ubuntu 20.04

The package provided by the PPA is freecad-daily, so you have to use that in the command too. (If you want to run the previous command you need another "deb-src ..." line to match whatever is providing the freecad package.)

Re: compile/build 0.19 on ubuntu 20.04

You also need to `sudo apt update` after making changes.

Re: compile/build 0.19 on ubuntu 20.04

There is a file created by the PPA in /etc/apt/sources.list.d that needs modified, where there's a "deb ..." line it needs to be duplicated with "deb-src ...", or you can use "sudo add-apt-repository -s ..."

Re: Compiling source code - unmet dependencies

Do you have any other PPAs installed, particularly a QGIS one?

Re: ubuntu and python3-pyside2uic

It's already been taken care of in cMake/FindPySide2Tools.cmake, if the Qt version is new enough it's just a matter of using rcc --generator=python instead of pyside2-rcc, same for uic and pyside2-uic. And on Debian/Ubuntu the necessary Qt package is qtbase5-dev-tools, version 5.14 minimum. So it's...

Re: ubuntu and python3-pyside2uic

Basically pyside2uic and pyside2rcc binaries' functionality was moved to Qt5's uic and rcc binaries Thanks, this speaks to what wmayer was saying. So in the future FreeCAD will need to be ported to use QT's native uic? And this will be packaged with QT somewhere? It's already been taken care of in ...

Re: ubuntu and python3-pyside2uic

Unfortunately the Ubuntu 20.04 release people took my experimental pyside2 package out of Debian Experimental even though it wasn't ready due to this change regarding rcc and uic  Basically pyside2uic and pyside2rcc binaries' functionality was moved to Qt5's uic and rcc binaries, but the versio...
