Re: Trails Workbench (Transportation and Earthwork Workbench)

Sorry - I think I forgot about this. I'll just delete it for now. It's not required. It's the C++ coder in me that wants that explicitness.

Re: Trails Workbench (Transportation and Earthwork Workbench)

That was easier than I thought. I did accommodate that edge case, but a logic bug prevented it from working. Bug is fixed and single-tangent alignments are now supported in the dev branch. Please note that horizontal alignment editing is still a WIP and is, generally, broken.

Re: Trails Workbench (Transportation and Earthwork Workbench)

Just a quick update on this problem... In my initial development, I designed the import module to ignore all line segments by default - the reason being is that they can be inferred between the end points of existing curves and the start / end stations in the alignment metadata. It also eliminates e...

Re: Trails Workbench (Transportation and Earthwork Workbench)

You are right. There is a problem with alignment that only include one element. Maybe Joel can solve this. Anyway. I have a workaround. I added an arc to your alignment. It imported without any error. I added my alignment and freecad file to attachment. I'll take a look. Shouldn't be a difficult fix.

Re: Trails Workbench (Transportation and Earthwork Workbench)

I do, too. It's a brilliant way to interface with the FreeCAD API. I only wish I could do most of my work with them. I'm still sorting out issues with horizontal alignment design stuff, but the end seems within reach for the moment. I plan on going after that label issue you mentioned - then maybe s...

Re: Trails Workbench (Transportation and Earthwork Workbench)

They are the cross sections of the road. They are perpendicular to alignment and they are represent the surfaces at given coordinate and direction. You can imagine it like fish bone structure that fallows road center line. Geomatics engineers uses them for calculate volumes between surfaces. You've...

Re: Civil engineering feature implementation (Transportation Engineering)

Ok. I'll try to take a look at this soon. It may be a while - my weekends are usually busy. I suspect it's an edge case that isn't being tested for, so hopefully it won't be a difficult fix.

Re: Civil engineering feature implementation (Transportation Engineering)

I think I've got loading / saving working properly again for alignments. Mind giving saving / loading a try in restructure I merge to dev?

Re: Civil engineering feature implementation (Transportation Engineering)

https://github.com/joelgraff/freecad.trails/blob/dev/freecad/trails/design/alignment/alignment_model.py#L577 This function in alignment model will return the station given a set of coordinates, and should respect station equations. I haven't really tested it extensively, so there may be bugs. https...

Re: Make your splashscreen proposals for 0.19 release !

I like V3 or V4, but V3 will need a backdrop behind the text to make it more visible.
