Re: CADCloud Video introduction
... One of the thing is more about who would get access to the data, because the value is in the data, and how could we ensure that it stay public. ... I'm not sure what you mean by "data"? Do you mean the FreeCAD model, the thing that is modelled in 3D? That information should be private...

Re: CADCloud Video introduction
... And, I thought "hey this would be a great way to use that CADCLOUD thing I read about..." Yes, that's the idea, it just needs to be developed further. So the next steps are as follows, vejmarie will create a start-up company that specializes in CAD data sharing based on FreeCAD, it wi...

Re: boost vs std ?
... It struck me as curious that "boost" library is used instead of "std"(C++17)... Like mfro says, I think it may be historical reasons. FreeCAD doesn't use the newest features of C++; I think it uses mostly C++11 and a bit of C++14. Using C++17 or C++20 would require refactori...

Re: Request: Configurable Mouse Button Assignment
You'd be surprised by the amount of people who use FreeCAD in Mac systems, and in laptops with a touchpad. I don't get it, but a lot of people work that way.Sandkuchen wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 9:14 pm ... (which really shouldn't be necessary with at least 3 regular mouse buttons and a scroll wheel).

Re: Request (Sketcher): Highlight Constrainment per Element (not only per sketch)
...Again, this is a non-issue in simple sketches, but can be really bothersome in more complex ones. Sketcher_SelectElementsWithDoFs If your sketch is too complex that may be a sign that you are adding too much information to a single object. Maybe it makes sense to simplify your model by breaking ...

... Is there someplace to create an account and I can then upload/download my files and others? No. This is "server code". With the code in the Github repository you can create your own local server, and then you can create accounts and log to it. But vejmarie hasn't created a public serv...

Re: Would FreeCad be easy enough to learn to show knots etc.?
... >>what is shortest learning steps to get to that point? Doing a loft or pipe is pretty simple, you just need to position the profiles to extrude in the correct places to produce the desired shape. So, it's not hard, but maybe it's a bit tedious to position the sketch es in the right place in 3D...

Is this something you can fo for Draft ? I'm not sure what you want me to do. As I said above, none of the issues above are particularly critical. In my opinion Draft and Arch have been ready to launch since February or so, but while the software is not considered stable, we can still make small fi...
