Re: New Feature: PocketShape & Adaptive - All Access Extension
... How would you create a path for this feature? (File attached) ... Top of the morning to you sir. Attached is the modified file and a screenshot of my take on it. A few things to note: I did leave a 1mm depth and lateral allowance on all operations except for drilling and initial milling of top ...

Proposed Feature: All Access Extension [PR Closed]
Evening FreeCADians. It is that time again. We need a great new feature here near at the end of the 0.19 dev cycle. This might be the one! It is simple and elegant with zero regressions and gets in places that current tools just can't reach. No, I'm not talking about a waterpick-toothbrush combo. Th...

Re: Which milling strategy
... I think I'm getting on your thinking path now to combine various milling commands in case a single operation fails on a surface. We are making great improvements in the Path WB. We are not where we want to be, but we have a workbench that is already more capable upon next release than the previ...

Re: Which milling strategy
Morning. I cannot get the Extensions feature to play nicely. Perhaps a bug. Either way, I cannot get it to extend the face at the desired edges. Anyhow, I use a 3mm endmill for these ops. Use the Profile tool and select the edges indicated and then set the Final Depth to the target face. The open-ed...

Re: Which milling strategy
Afternoon sir. You have options for clearing these thin areas: the Profile op using open edge or the Slot op. The Profile op has the `Expand Profile` feature to allow for multiple offset passes for a clearing type of operation in front of the edge. The Slot op does not have anything like this, but y...

Evening, ... On closer inspection there are some oddities ... For the record, most everything I code has them. Period. ... I think I have a fix working now. ... I think I've managed to correct this in the code too. ... Great ... and even better. ... Also there seems to be an inversion of start and e...

Re: slot on curve
Simple answer is no / Simple answer is yes; Thanks for the correction. That is not very polished but it makes it a perfectly usable feature. I did not want a centred slot so it's perfect. You are most welcome sir. I also updated the wiki to provide some guidance for users, that was sorely lacking. ...

Re: slot on curve
... Is there a way to do this on a curved face? ... Morning sir. Simple answer is yes; however, it requires an extra step. If I recall correctly, one must select a bottom circular edge to create a circular slot. However, the op does not automatically offset the edge by the radius of the cutter in t...
