Re: Changing the numbering scheme

If you asked programmers if we could all start over and use 1 instead of 0, we would all like that you must be very very (very) young: FORTRAN counts from 1, and this subject is as old as computing itself. Well I remember using punch cards, paper tapes, and slide rules punch cards ? Ha, luxury , i ...

It could be a reasonable feature request to have a tree view showing the internal name instead of the label.
or both. There is a column in the tree called "Description" that is always empty.

Re: New users instantly become discouraged and will ultimately find a different solution.

And now comes the really serious part: you asked for flames, you get it. After so many people, newcomers and powerusers, say the same thing, that the usability of FreeCAD is awful, why can't you accept reality ? Why do you live in denial ? What do you gain with it ? Why spend so much time adding in...

Re: Assembly4 notes/questions

1) Do all future design within the Model format, even if you do not contemplate a future assembly. This avoids the hassle of converting a Part or Part Design to the Model format if needed as an Assembly 4 Part. good remark, that's also what I do. Create a Model (this produces a folder for Parts) Cr...

Re: Freecad based Hexapod Robot Open Source Project

Next i want to animate this in Assembly 4 workbench. I am trying to do that. Kindly provide your valuable feedback. 1) create 9 variables that will be the angles of all 9 servos. Each servo should have an LCS located on the servo axis. 2) how do-you intend to "animate" these servos ? 3) do I see it...

Re: GSOC 2020 has been Green Lit! (Submit your Draft proposals by March 31st!)

I plan on submitting two GSoC proposals to FreeCAD since I like " A better IPython and Jupyter Notebook Integration for FreeCAD " as well as Zolkos suggestion " Measurement tool for FreeCAD " I think that the complexity and amount of work are very different in these 2 proposals. The Jupyter Noteboo...
