Re: McMaster-Carr Workbench
Adapting to other websites is very easy. The addon doesn't actually know anything about the site it's pointed at. It just opens whatever URL you give it. QtWebTools is almost suspiciously good at getting this exact job done. It handles download requests and creates the files for us. We even get a n...

Re: McMaster-Carr Workbench
Just installed. Looking forward to checking it out. If anybody wants to add it to the addon manager. Click the configure button: Add the github repo: Might need to restart FreeCAD, not sure, but it will appear in the workbench section. I didn't know about this method until now, so thanks - I was ab...

Re: McMaster-Carr Workbench
Can you late edit the imported part ? Glides for drawers for example I reposition That depends somewhat on the quality of models that are provided, But generally yes. There are ~20 lines of code that try to make sure that imported objects don't get squashed to monolithic grey blobs. I tested out a ...

Re: McMaster-Carr Workbench
github repository: https://github.com/alexneufeld/FreeCAD_mcm_addon I would appreciate it if some community members could give it a test drive. Once I know it works on other people's machines, I'll look at adding the tool to the addon Manager. This is awesome - Thanks ! I tried it on FC 0.19 and Re...

Re: FreeCAD .FCStd importer for Blender 2.80
Which is what I cannot locate for Linux/Ubuntu.
Blender 2.92.0 is Python ver 3.7.x and the next one
Blender 2.93.0 is Python 3.9.x
Would you have a link for the 2.8 version you mentioned ?

Re: FreeCAD .FCStd importer for Blender 2.80
I'm struggling with getting python versions to match, so that I can manage to run the FreeCAD importer for Blender. Also a noob with compiling from source, AND I don't want to mess up any Python install's already on my OS, so I would prefer installing a pre-compiled package for my OS. So, any hand h...

Re: 3Dconnexion mouse
Thanks for clarifying that, wmayer.
For me, it is okay that it is working with ver 0.19 since that's the version I use the most.

Re: Freecad looking for Qt_5.15 but Qt_5.12 is installed
I've removed the ~/.local/lib/python3.8 directory and it now seems to start ok. Well, doing this solved my start up errors too. I'm on Ubuntu 20.04 fresh install on a formatted disk. Was having trouble with FC v0.18 installed via Ubuntu software centre, as well as FC v0.18 and FC v0.19 AppImages too.
