Re: Path 4th-axis gcode output only 180 degrees

Hi everyone. I played a bit around with my original problem, that the outputted gcode only does 180 degrees. What I figured out now is that if I use the A-Axis than the gcode seems OK. Does 180 degrees + and 180 degrees - If I us the B-Axis which is the setup of my machine, I only get an ouput for 1...

Re: Path 4th-axis gcode output only 180 degrees

What are the steps to get from the g-code from path_inspect to the output from a post processor?
I used now the pat_inspect g-code and changed the feed (x60) and added the pre- and post-amble and it worked. There were a few lines where the feed was negativ and after I corrected them everything worked.

Re: Path 4th-axis gcode output only 180 degrees

Hi Gene,
for what I need it at the moment, the 4th axis seems to be ok. A bit of overhang in the output, but I can live with that.
The problem is in the post processing, but not specific to a post processor. I tried a few different ones. The result is always the same.

Re: Path 4th-axis gcode output only 180 degrees

If I look at path_inspect everything looks ok. also the preview is ok. I use linuxcnc as post processor, but I can't find anything there where the changes for the b-axis are happening.

Path 4th-axis gcode output only 180 degrees

I have a problem with 4th axis gcode output. Freecad only generates the gcode for 180 degrees, but that twice. It goes from 0 to 90 degrees than from 90 to -90 and than back to 0. Have I overlooked something in the settings or is it a bug. I tried with just a simple cylinder at th end to cut down ca...

Thanks again.
Finally, with your help chrisb I got it to work. I must have downloaded older versions of the 3 files.
