Re: After using measure everything greyed

Yes.
But it was grey too!

I believe I tried colsing the file and reopening it. That did not help.

In the end I exited Freecad and did a complete new start. That worked.

It seems there is no escape from Measure and it turns on grey nearly everywhere.

After using measure everything greyed

I was using draft work bench for simple line drawing, then needed to measure the angle between two lines. I suppose I used Part-Measure. And labelled some angles ok. Then I wanted to stop measuring but everyting is greyed. Now all I can do is more measures. I can't draw lines, all object creation to...

Feature request: More helpful dialogs in PartDesign-Sketcher

I find I easily lose the path to a sucessful sketch which attaches to the correct parent. One wrong turn and it can be difficult and time consuming to recover. See for example my ealier problem https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=42883&p=364547#p364547 The core FC code in FC 19 seems qu...

Re: Simplle sketch wo'nt pad. Get 'Graph must be DAG'

@chrisb 'Make origin visible, select XY plane, use "Map sketch to face" and select the sketch in the occurring list to attach it. Make origin visible, select XY plane, use "Map sketch to face" and select the sketch in the occurring list to attach it. ' Yes that worked. I think my confusion is in som...

Re: Simple sketch won't pad. Get 'Graph must be DAG'

More info: I set the sketch Map Mode back to Deactivated. Then I selected 'Map Sketch to a face' although that is not what I want do do. I want to map to the Body XY plane. So I do 'Map Sketch to a face' anyway and then get 'Some of the selected objects depend on the sketch to be mapped...' If I loo...

Re: Simplle sketch wo'nt pad. Get 'Graph must be DAG'

@Bance
Thanks. I fixed that.

@Roy_043
The Map Mode was set to 'Object's XY'. Which object is it referring to? Why doesn' it be more explicit and name the objetc. It knows?

How do I set the sketch on the Body XY plane?

Where did I go wrong making a simple pad to end up here?

Thanks to both.

Simplle sketch wo'nt pad. Get 'Graph must be DAG'

I have a body with a sketch that won't pad. It is one closed polygon. Validate sketch says it is ok. It is perhaps unusual in having many construction lines. But they validate too. Map Mode is set to ObjectXY. This is set to root XY plane. Because I got the DAG message 528.242 <App> Document.cpp(284...

Re: External geometry will not select edge

Thanks. I switched to using the daily build and found code much more stable. Many things that did not work in FC18 are better in nightly's. OS: Windows 10 (10.0) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.19.19300 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: master Hash: 1a8df1ab03975277f5...

External geometry will not select edge

I am following "Sandbox:Basic Part Design Tutorial 018" At the point "After the face is selected, click on the New sketch icon in the toolbar or from the Part Design menu and that will map our next sketch to the back face of the part. Now select Sketcher CreateRectangle.png rectangle tool and place ...
