Re: name FreeCAD 0.91 instead of 0.20, means version after 0.19 could be 0.91

As I said some deal with it better than others. A lot of the others can't figure out how to position sketches without slapping them all over generated geometry with reckless abandon. If you think, even without tnp, that constitutes "best practice", that is your perogative. 8-) Is tnp a pr...

It's just bad, and anyone who says otherwise is simply making excuses because they don't want to admit it. It is what it is until it's fixed. You want to see a fix or help, follow realthunder's progress https://github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD/tree/TopoNaming but please spare us the kvetching. There'...

...has been in development for 20 years... 20 years and we're still dealing with the topological naming problem? Yeah, I'm calling it. We'll never see 1.0 in our lifetimes. some deal with it better than others. The #1 requirement of CAD software is stability. FreeCAD's TNP is the most uns...

Re: 3DConnexion SpaceMouse - pressing ANY button dramatically zooms out and rotates the view

Further up you confirmed that the Enterprise model is properly supported by Blender. But Blender doesn't use the 3Dconnexion driver either but it uses this library: https://github.com/Modaptix/ghost When studying the code a bit it doesn't do anything very special for the Enterprise model so i wonde...

Re: 3DConnexion SpaceMouse - pressing ANY button dramatically zooms out and rotates the view

The correct solution in the long term is to use the 3Dconnexion driver and configure buttons in the 3Dconnexion control panel, and not in FreeCAD's janky custom panel. When implemented correctly it also allows things like context switching (i.e. having a completely different configurations for mode...

Re: 3DConnexion SpaceMouse - pressing ANY button dramatically zooms out and rotates the view

It seems much more handy to me to configure the buttons in the driver and not on FreeCAD. ... It seems that you will be able to test a 0.19 version with usable "enterprise" buttons soon. Yeah, from what I see the "fix" right now will still leave large areas of functionality unus...

Re: 3DConnexion SpaceMouse - pressing ANY button dramatically zooms out and rotates the view

There are three buttons that i've not seen on other models, labeled V1, V2 and V3. I think the intended use is that a long press "saves" the current view (camera coordinates). And the position can be restored later with a short press. This will only work with some assistance from the appl...

Re: 3DConnexion SpaceMouse - pressing ANY button dramatically zooms out and rotates the view

That wasn't my point. I meant that you can try your space mouse inside Blender and check if handles the events in a more appropriate way. That makes sense. :) In terms of buttons, they mostly appear to work. They don't cause any weird or sudden zooms, and preset views, zoom to fit, etc. are all pre...

Re: 3DConnexion SpaceMouse - pressing ANY button dramatically zooms out and rotates the view

...the rotation center issue... ...For a standard mouse we have this option and there it works that as soon as the user starts the rotation we know the 3d coordinates of the rotation center and are able to compute the transformation of the camera node. For a space mouse we don't have an explicit ro...
