Adding shape to scenegraph

I'm trying to learn a little more about Pivy/Coin and the scenegraph. I thought this would be easy and went looking for some example code but couldn't find any. If I have an OCC Shape object, can I get the open inventor representation and add it directly to the scenegraph? I know I can get it's repr...

Re: Co -Ordinate system

Good catch. The UI wasn't updating properly for the selected WCSs. Also saving the job as a template wasn't saving the WCS selection, orderby, or splitoutput flags. PR pending

Re: building mesh from external process

The problem might just be that the mesh I'm getting back from camotics is huge. I've since figured out how to set the resultion in the camotics setup and at low/medium it's pretty fast. Do you need a Mesh object? It would probably be faster if you could read raw vertex and index data from CAMotics a...

building mesh from external process

The CAMotics guys are building a python interface to their simulation tool. This is very cool and will let Path get higher quality simulation faster. It's still in development but I'm playing with it to figure out how to get the resulting mesh into FreeCAD without writing to disk. see below. Everyth...

Re: New Feature: PocketShape & Adaptive - All Access Extension

Some afterthoughts: While in FC, the Adaptive op stands alone, the reality is it is just another cut pattern. From a technical stand point, I would expect to see it listed in the MillFace and PocketShape ops alongside the zigzag, line, offset, etc... No, I am not suggesting that we attempt to do th...

Re: Only G0 and G1 (=no G2 and G3)

sliptonic: Sounds interesting. What does "small" mean :-) ? That's hard to answer. A developer in one part of the world might jump at a price that someone elsewhere might ignore. I would suggest you consider what it's worth to you. Some people think that 'filthy lucre' has no place in open source d...

Re: Only G0 and G1 (=no G2 and G3)

This has come up several times and usually gotten the same response from the community.

Honestly, this wouldn't be difficult to achieve but apparently no developer has enough of an itch to tackle it. So I'd suggest either trying it yourself, or putting up a small bounty for it.

Re: Part nesting, new idea, please help with python/algorithm

Hi guys. I'm reed some posts about part part nesting but SVGnest script is not what wee expect and it can't be integrated in FreeCAD. First thing first wee need some plywood or mdf sheet. As a sheet i'm use a datumPlane from PartDesign workbench. Why use a datumPlane? Planes don't have any boundari...

Re: Postprocessor Fagor 8060 working

Best to extend grbl. But if it's added as a new post, please add copies notes to the beginning of the file explaining how it's different.
At some point, we're going to have to refactor the postprocessor system and recreating/testing is going to hurt without some explanation of what it should do.

Re: Path Tests and PRs (Please Change Topic)

It does work. Or at least it can be made to work with some fiddling. But this is new and there are some rough spots that we're still working on. Additional improvements are coming soon.

The toolbits system is incredibly important and central to path. Please test test test!
