Re: Moving towards merging in drawing stuff?

DraftSight looks like it can export to SVG and if it works good and FreeCAD would ditch SVG i guess i could use DraftSight for converting DXF made by FreeCAD to SVG with the help of DraftSight and open it in for example Inkscape. But it just feels wrong because the exact same thing i can already do ...

Re: Moving towards merging in drawing stuff?

Well from what I understand about the issue, the problem with SVG is, it's a vector graphics file format, not a CAD file format. But is vector graphic format really "the problem". This means some features are not implemented and workarounds are needed (dimensions for example need many SVG objects)....

Re: Moving towards merging in drawing stuff?

I hve some reservations with using SVG for technical documents What are they and does another format solve them? What would using another format change? Less work by "embedding LibreCAD" or it would bring something else too? What would be lost compared to SVG? though I do like that it is supported ...

Re: Moving towards merging in drawing stuff?

I fear we are with SVG on the wrong boat sailing in a wrong direction..... But thats a thought, open for discussion.... I don't know what would be the best choice (long-term) and would give best results (short-term) but SVG is probably something i would like it to be in the centre of the FreeCAD st...

Re: SF hosted app retairement & call for help

triplus, why don't you create a github account and ask Yorik to grant you write permissions on his FreeCAD-homepage repo? You could make changes directly on the test branch, and in the online editor.
Lets see how it goes.

Re: SF hosted app retairement & call for help

Font size is much better now!

-Added slide0.
-Changed column3 a bit because text "Latest activity" was moving around (waiting for Yahoo Pipes feed).
-I moved navigation a bit and i does make sense for me but it can be moved back if others don't agree.

Re: SF hosted app retairement & call for help

Didn't think to check. Just did, it works better, image rotation works but for each switch the image flashes twice.
I think now it should work like the one from the DEMO page.

Re: SF hosted app retairement & call for help

About a newsbox, yes, that's definitely something we need. The facebook applet we use on the wiki is easy to insert, Facebook provides a HTML snippet that you just paste somewhere. But we need the final URL of the page, so we can do that later. But maybe a better solution would be RSS feeds... It's...

Re: SF hosted app retairement & call for help

Right now the images are zoomed to 960px wide from 800px which makes them blurred, they would obviously need to be redone. Yes currently the exact image size is 960x360 and i am thinking in direction first image should be the most representative one because this is the image everybody will see. It ...
