Start with a box and lid, after you get the basics. Do what is called design in place. If your working in PartDesign then one body is the box, another is the lid.

Draft array is 10X faster.

You can do sketches quick and dirty and then grab every line and make sure it connects. You must keep a closed shape. Post something if you get stuck.
