Re: Release of 0.18
I will do the face book announcement including the video. Should we do this right now, or when the builds are uploaded? I assume many will complain about a release they cannot use
Re: Release of 0.18
Sliptonic, can you provide the video as file via sharing service? Uploading it directly to Facebook makes it way more prominent than linking YouTube

Try this:

I also did a high-res image for the video thumbnail. It's too big to attach here so I shared a link to it as well:

Re: Release of 0.18
IMO it doesn't make sense to announce it if installers (Win, macOS, AppImage) aren't available.
I created a topic for the Ubuntu PPA:
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 67#p293267
Maybe the AppImage should be Conda-based?

master is already 1 commit ahead, I don't know if the commit is also meant for 0.18?
EDIT: @wmayer @yorik, can we backport this commit to the 0.18 releases branch and then have a 36-48 hr hold on commits to master, then move master to 0.19 development? This way we can build developer builds that equal the 0.18 release to buy time to build out the 0.18 release.

Yes! The official releases on the GitHub page for AppImage, Win x64, and OSX will be Conda based (QT5/PY3). Win x32 will be QT4/PY2 . We could offer "legacy" versions that use QT4/PY2 for Win x64 and AppImage. I think we should indicate that these are "legacy" or "deprecated".

The Arch pivy package is failing because of Swig. So I haven't been able to install 0.18 due to that dependency issue. Working with downstream to figure out what's going on
