My 2 cents: "Copy info to clipboard & Close" button next to the OK button and OK button renamed to Close to keep things consistent.

March 12th I would say, the day the 0.18 branch was created... Or do we wait until we're ready to make an official announcement?

I think this is the real release. All the other stuff we do is a result of said release.

is there
FreeCAD_0.18.16093_RC_Conda_Py3QT5-WinVS2015_x64
available at the FreeCAD 0.18 GH https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/releases assets?

I cannot find it anymore and I think we should suggest this py3&qt5 release as the preferred to be used...
It is instead available under 0.18_pre assets.

The RC installer is PY3/QT5. I will only provide a portable package for Py2/QT5 for 64 bit win. After I finalize the binaries I need to add a lot of text to the 0.18 release page and 0.18_pre will go away.

It seems like we're almost ready for a release announcement... I have stable 0.18 Python2 & 3 packages for Ubuntu 18.04, 18.10, and 19.04... once I get 16.04 packages working, what's left?

Also, in the release notes, for these packages, it should be noted that if you have FreeCAD already installed or simply run sudo apt install freecad, you'll get the Python 2 package. If you want to install only the Python 3 package, run sudo apt install freecad freecad-python3.

If you have both packages installed, you can switch between them with sudo update-alternatives --config freecad.
Like my FreeCAD work? I'd appreciate any level of support via Patreon, Liberapay, or PayPal! Read more about what I do at my blog.

IMHO it makes sense to include this and recreate the downloads before announcement https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/2049
