sgrogan wrote: Tue Mar 12, 2019 8:29 pm EDIT: @wmayer @yorik, can we backport this commit to the 0.18 releases branch and then have a 36-48 hr hold on commits to master, then move master to 0.19 development? This way we can build developer builds that equal the 0.18 release to buy time to build out the 0.18 release.
None of the currently new commits in master needs to be backported. However, there is still a minor change needed for issue #2034 which must be pushed to the v0.18 branch, too.

is it released or not ?

On the page https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/Release_notes_0.18 I read:
"FreeCAD 0.18 is currently in active development and is still not officially released"

On the same page, a few raws after:
"FreeCAD 0.18 was released on 12 March, 2019"

As long as the Homepage still shows 0.17 , it think not. Probably it was an optimistical placeholder in the release notes doc.
..btw.. i added a few lines to it..

… looking into 0.18-pre downloads there are new files with RC in the Filename.
I suppose this could mean Release Candidate (and not Remote Control)

Can you update master to 0.19?
Sorry for the pain but master is 0.18.greater than the release.

EDIT: Thanks wmayer :)

I have created the 0.18 releases page https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/releases/tag/0.18 and created the tag.
The plan is not to delete this release, future backports will be included in a future 0.18.1 release.

I think now we have a "soft" release. For those that are compiling yourselves we are released. For those looking for the binaries, stay tuned.

Thanks for all that have made this possible yorik and wmayer as always :D
Also looo and kkremitzki, the packaging work to port to QT5/PY3 is most appreciated.
